How accurate is the star map?

Star positions are calculated from standard stellar ephemeris data and are accurate to within arc-minutes — sufficient for naked-eye observation, constellation identification and casual stargazing with binoculars.

Can I search for a specific planet or constellation?

Yes. Type a planet name (e.g. Jupiter), a star name (e.g. Sirius) or a constellation name (e.g. Orion) to centre the map on that object.
