Does it look anything up online?

No, by design. There is no DOI or ISBN resolution and no dictionary API here, because a citation tool that phones home tells somebody what you are reading and writing. You type the source details, or import them from a manager that already has them.

Can I bring my Zotero or Mendeley library in?

Yes, through the file every manager exports: BibTeX, RIS or CSL-JSON. Paste it into the import box or pick the file, and each entry becomes a source in this document's list. Exporting back out in the same formats works too.

Where are the sources stored?

Inside the document itself, not in a separate library on the device. That means a colleague who opens your .docx has the sources, and it also means two documents keep two independent lists — import the file into each, or export from one and import into the other.

Which styles are supported?

Six: APA 7th, MLA 9th, Chicago 17th in both author-date and notes-and-bibliography forms, IEEE and Harvard. Chicago's notes form puts the citation in a footnote, and IEEE numbers them in order of first appearance.

Will Word show the citations properly?

The citation and the reference list are written into the saved .docx as text with their field structure, so Word displays them exactly as they appear here. Word's own citation manager will not adopt them as its sources, which is a limitation worth knowing before you hand a half-finished thesis to a co-author who uses it.
