Is the text-to-speech really free with no limits?

Yes. GoChronos Text to Speech uses your device's built-in voices, so there are no character limits, credits or accounts — and your text is never sent to a server.

Why are only some voices listed?

The tool deliberately shows only on-device voices. Network-backed voices would stream your text to a vendor server, which breaks the privacy-first rule, so they are hidden.

Can I download the speech as an MP3?

No. The browser's speech API plays audio but doesn't expose it as a downloadable stream, so a fully on-device tool can't capture it to a file. It's for reading text aloud.

Can I change the speed and pitch?

Yes. Rate, pitch and volume are all adjustable, and you can pause and resume playback.
